“We are a group of volunteers, who believe passionately in helping the poor and vulnerable of any race or religion…“
Our Vision is an international partnership of Christians, members of all faiths or of no faith who believe the human race is one family working together with compassion for the poor and oppressed, promoting freedom, justice, hope, dignity and peace for all, protecting and sustaining our natural environment and celebrating the diversity in human personality, contribution and culture.
Our mission is to walk alongside the poor and vulnerable of any race or religion, in providing services for their support and welfare.
How We Got Started
We are a group of passionate individuals working together to help those in need and who are most vulnerable in Limassol, Cyprus. It all started from St Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church in Limassol. In 2012, Dolores Savvides and Margaret Irving (sadly deceased) were requested by the Parish Priest to set up a branch of an international charity in Limassol for the benefit of the poor, migrants and asylum seekers. Margaret and Dolores selected another eight persons from the parish all from different countries and this became the original team:
In 2016, this team decided to leave the international charity and to set up its own Association with its own objectives operating only in Limassol and AGAPI Cyprus was born.
Who Are We?
We are a group of volunteers, who believe passionately in helping the poor and vulnerable of any race or religion. We include individuals of different faiths or of no faith, from different ethnic backgrounds and from all walks of life.
We are a 10-member Board, motivated by principles of compassion and humanitarianism, who have worked together voluntarily for many years.
We are supported strongly by about 50 regular volunteers and donors.
